North Rim Grand Canyon Lodging

The Grand Canyon is a stunning geological wonder visited by millions of people every year. The colorful rock layers reveal much of the Earth's history. The canyon is more than a mile deep, surrounded by an impressive landscape of desert wilderness. This region is a sightseeing adventure for all who experience it. The weather is quite variable throughout the year, and visitors should prepare for extreme temperatures, especially in the summer. The South Rim is the most visited area at the park and is open all year. The secluded North Rim of the canyon is open mid-May to mid-October. There is a free shuttle bus system from the Canyon Village area for the convenience of travelers.

The Grand Canyon Lodge is proudly posted at Bright Angle Point, a promontory on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. First opened in 1928, tragically in 1932 the main lodge was lost to fire. After an extensive rebuild the new Grand Canyon Lodge was reopened in 1937. Built primarily of natural stone, Ponderosa pine logs and log-slab siding. This rustic example of western architecture is banked along several levels that step down with the natural fall of the canyon rim.
